I am an artist and educator living in Kanazawa, Japan while on a Fulbright-Hays research grant.  “Porcelain Fever” is an expression commonly used to describe the mania for import Chinese and Japanese blue & white and overglaze enameled wares in the seventeenth century, and is also the header of my  project for the next seven months: “Porcelain Fever: Contemporary Kutani Practitioners and Practices”

This blog is a resource for myself to record various travels and research related to my work, and hopefully will also act as a platform to introduce a variety of Japanese artists and other bits of interesting ceramics-related info.
